Confidential, professional and caring therapist
During the first session a full case history will be taken from you, this will include past and present illness and injuries. If time allows, you will receive by post a consultation sheet to fill in before your first session.
A treatment will usually take about one hour and is carried out on a therapy table. It is beneficial for treatment to be repeated 5 -10 days after your first session, with 7 days being optimum. Most people will respond within 3 -5 sessions, when even long standing pain can be relieved.
Most treatments can be given through light clothing. Tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt are ideal.
Generally people find the treatment very relaxing and it helps promote a deep sense of wellbeing. The initial treatment will address the whole body as well as the presenting problem. During the treatment a series of small gentle rolling moves are made over the muscle, tendons, fascia and ligaments. In between moves the client will be left to rest for a few minutes with the therapist leaving the room. During the resting period the therapist will make detailed notes as to how the client is responding to the treatment and will record the subtle anatomical changes that are taking place within the body.
After the treatment you will be asked to drink some water and given an after care sheet. It is important for you to follow the advice on the sheet as it will help towards producing a positive outcome from your treatment.
